Leaders are Intentional by OD Harris

You must be willing to let go and move with great intent.
Kobe Bryant, arguably the greatest basketball player of
all-time, left high school and went directly into the NBA.
That was his quantum leap with the N2 Effect. Interview after
interview, you will hear Kobe Bryant share how he had no
other time for anything else but basketball and family. He
He was intentional about his pursuit of perfecting his gift to play
basketball. He believed one should “dance beautifully in their
box.” What those words mean to me in order to make the
quantum leap with the N2 Effect is that you must be willing to let
go of anything that does not advance your purpose in life.
Nothing can hold you back, including those around you. You
must be intentional in how you move around your peers and
willing to let them go if need be.
In order to go where you have never gone before, you
must be intentional about who you allow in your life.
You, as a leader, must be intentional in how you spend
your time. Kobe Bryant desired to go to the NBA from high school
school. He did not have time to deal with people who were
not interested in what he was trying to do or where he was going. The
The same should be with you. You must be willing to let people
go who don't think like you, who don’t believe like you, who
don't move like you, and don't move like those who are not intentional like you. Cut
them off!
As a leader of purpose, the moves you make will not be
explainable, so stop trying to explain them. Remember you
They are trying to go into uncharted territory. Make less time for
useless conversations with others, and invest more time in
your gift. As Dr. Charles Johnson shared with me, The gift is
what God gives you for your purpose in life.” He went on to
Say, “Purpose is what God created you to do to fulfill His will
on earth. There is a difference when you use the term ‘gift.
Some use the terms ‘gift’ and ‘talent’ interchangeably. But an
example of the difference is found with Joseph. Joseph’s
‘gift’ was a dream interpretation. His talent was in accounting
and business. His spiritual gift, dream interpretation, got him
in the presence of Pharaoh for the purpose of providing
Israel, with a place to incubate under the protection of the
most powerful nation at that time. His ‘talent,’ accounting, and
business, made it necessary for him to be with Potiphar, the slave master.
Being intentional about perfecting your gift should be your
main priority.
Proverbs 18:16 says that “A man’s gift makes room for
him and brings him before great men.”
Being intentional as a leader, your time should be well spent
spent in conferences, connecting with other thought leaders
of your industry, being a thought leader yourself by creating
publications and writings, and above all, thinking outside the
box at all times. So share your philosophies and beliefs
about your industry so you can position yourself for the N2
Effect.
When you move, let it be swift and efficient. Don’t be as a
fly that tries hard to get through a glass window when the
door is open 10 feet away. Working harder does not mean
you will produce better results, but creative thinking will help
you bypass the norm to quantum leap with the N2 Effect as
an intentional leader.
Steve Jobs believed that computers would be useful for
every household. In Playboy Magazine, 1985, Jobs said: “A
computer is the most incredible tool we've ever seen. It can
be a writing tool, a communication center, a super calculator,
a planner, a filer, and an artistic instrument all in one, just by
being given new instructions or software to work from.”
Steve became intentional about what he worked on and
where he spent his time and made the quantum leap with
the N2 Effect. Now Apple is a trillion-dollar company. Steve
Jobs will be remembered as one of the greatest influencers
in technology. His greatness was not derived from
his wealth. It was derived from his impact and service to
humanity.
Leaders must be intentional! Use your time wisely. Your
followers are waiting on your marching orders. You can’t
save the world until you make the quantum leap with the N2
Effect. Be intentional
The B’s of Intentional Leading:
Be intentional with your time.
Be intentional with what you say.
Be intentional with your creativity.
Be intentional with who you receive mentorship from.
Be intentional with your life.
Be intentional with who you hire.
Be intentional about what you ponder in your mind.
I want YOU to add to this list on what you need to be
more intentional as a leader.
This principle of being “intentional” will help you become
more efficient for rapid explosive impact, N2 Effect.
